Airservices attends major regional aviation event in the Hunter Valley

10 Oct 2014

The annual Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) National Conference was held in the Hunter Valley from 8-10 October and was widely attended by key industry leaders, regional operators, technical experts, manufacturers and suppliers.

The event theme this year was ‘A new horizon’, and attracted around 300 Australian and international delegates for a series of presentations, workshops, and networking events.

Manager East Coast Services North, Doug Scott presented at the event and spoke about the transformation that Airservices was undertaking as we prepared for the future. Other key speakers at the event included Dr Keith Suter who spoke about, ‘Flying as still the best way to travel’, and former Australian test cricketer Kerry O’Keefe.

As a major sponsor of the event, we also had a significant presence with a stand in the trade hall with representatives from Corporate and Industry Affairs, and Greg Dunstone the automatic dependent surveillance broadcast (ADS-B) expert who took the opportunity to discuss the move to new technology with visitors.

The RAAA conference allows us to reinforce our important role in connecting the industry as well as providing the opportunity to strengthen our relationships with regional aviation operators.
