A win for Airservices in national leadership awards

General Manager Learning Academy Linda Spurr took out top honours in the Emerging Leader in the Public Sector category in the 2015 NAB Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards on Thursday 26 February 2015.

The awards were created to celebrate emerging female talent as well as the men and women that help women achieve. This year marks the award’s third event.

Ms Spurr, a member of Airservices Executive Committee and Diversity Council, was recognised for her work leading Airservices Learning Academy, a workforce of over 450 employees and Registered Training Organisation, which last financial year trained over 2000 operational employees, including approximately 800 air traffic controllers, 600 fire fighters.and 700 technicians.

Since joining Airservices in 2006, Ms Spurr has held a number of senior leadership roles providing her with broad exposure across the organisation and the aviation industry. Her previous roles at Airservices include Manager Shared Services, responsible for delivering a renovation program of critical support services, and Manager Finance and Corporate Services Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting. Ms Spurr also represents industry on the Board of Aviation/Aerospace Australia and is an active member of the Enterprise Registered Training Organisation Association.
