The Australian Government's 2009 Aviation White Paper noted the importance of a national air traffic management system and recognised the need for the further harmonisation of civil and military ATM systems and services.

At the first civil military air traffic conference to be held in Australia, Airservices CEO Greg Russell talks about civil/military harmonisation in the Australian context and the work underway between Airservices and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), including the challenges that lie ahead.
